Best wishes to you all...
Greetings! It's that time of year when many of us become introspective and retrospective, looking back over the year.
In some respects it's been a good year. In some fields, we've seen some very promising research. In other areas, we have a long way to go. The National Pain Care Policy Act is still sitting in committee in the House, never having even made it to the floor of the House for a vote. It's been there since 2007. We still haven't seen the promised Patient's Bill of Rights. And the DEA has never addressed the issue of chronic pain.
Still, there is much to be thankful for, both personally and as a health advocate. I am especially grateful for people I've met in my work, both those I've known for a few years now and those I met this past year.
To each of you reading this, I wish you whatever it is that your heart desires most. Whatever holidays you may (or may not) be celebrating, may your heart be filled with joy and peace, and may you be pain-free.
